Need help my Tekin 1550kv motor is going crazy!
3 Attachment(s)
my 1550kv tekin motor is having problems. Sometimes after a stop or reverse the motor can't move forward there will be a loud click sound. After a few throttle then the car will move forward.
I pm Randy n he told me to open up the motor n see the rotor. I opened up the motor the rotor n everything seems fine What could be wrong? What shld I be looking for? no one from tekin reply me. Thx guys! |
If the rotor is loose, you may not see it from a quick visual inspection, but you would notice when driving(would seem like a loose sliper setting and would likely run hot as well). You could chuck the shaft in a drill and try to rotate the magnets around the shaft by hand once it is apart.
Regarding the clicking sound - does it come from the motor or ESC or something else(wil it exhibit the same behavior whent he motor is out of the truck, for instance)? My initial instincts lead me to believe the issue is either sensor related or ESC related, as a lose rotor is pretty noticeable. |
Hi Mike, thx for the reply. The rotor is still intact. I will change the sensor cable n test again. Thx again.

I believe the rotor to be bad also, as we spoke before.
Also make very sure to check the sensors using the Rx8's sensor checker feature. |
My esc is a hobbywing, so how do I check the sensors?
|
Ah, you can't with that one. See if you can find anyone with a Tekin RS or Rx8.
