Help the Monster
OK so I've been talking with Mike about helping him update the store but figure there are a lot of you guys that could help or would have an opinion.
The idea is to establish new cataegories that would simplify the store... Suggestions on heirachies please... |
Site Front
- New product announcements - Brushless Conversion Parts Kits Electric Motor Mounts Battery trays Pinions Slipperential Parts Other - Electronics and Accessories Brushless Motors Brushless speed controllers Connectors and Accessories Batteries Chargers -Mfr. Specific parts Traxxas -E/T maxx -Rustler/Stampede/Bandit -Slash -Revo Hpi Racing -Savage What do you think |
Make a search field on the home page (so I don't have to click search when I want to do a search).
Post brands (below RCMonster products) in alfabetical order. When I click RCMonster parts I get a list of everything. Make a subdivision like (AmainHobbies uses such a system): Home Forums New Stuff Gift certificates Order tracking Contact us RCMonster parts Complete conversion kits (subdivide by brand) - brand a - brand b - etc Slipperential & parts Seperate conversion parts - brand a - brand b - brand c - motor mount - lipo tray - servo/rx/tp Pinions - Mod1 - 48P - 32P Search by brand Castle Creations - Motors - ESC's - Accessories Flextek FLM - Traxxas - HPI Futaba GorillaMax Hot Bodies HPI - Savage - Savage Flux - Chassis kits -- FLM -- ?? Hyperion - Chargers - LiPo's - Accessories Mugen Pro-Line - Wheels - Tires - Bodies RD Logic Spektrum Tekin - Motors - ESC's - Accessories Traxxas - E-Revo - E-Maxx - Slash/Rustler/Bandit/Stampede Search by category Battery / charger - LiPo - A123 - NiMH Bodies Conversion kits ESC Gears / tranny Motors Radio Equipment - Spektrum - Futaba Wheels & Tires - 2.2'' - 3.2'' - 3.7'' - Rims - Tire RC links And then work all the options about. Just place a ''+'' so that the options go below. Makes it easy to navigate and you remain an oversite of where you are and how you got there. Make sure products can be found via several links. If I want new Savage TVP's I can find it via HPI -> Savage and via FLM -> Savage. |
On ben's I'd put the gears/pinions/slipperential on the first page...
|
When looking at products it would be nice to see more things on the page with smaller icons and a brief description/price, then click for more info. I like the layout RPP went to recently. It just looks clean and simple but elegant enough not to be some fly by night type company.
Also if Mike got into more crawler/scaler products I could frequent the store more. I want to support the monster but as my interests have changed it gets tougher. I know he may not want to expand but it's just a suggestion. |
Crawler parts thru the Monster? Now that would be awesome! He could start small with brushed and brushless motors and ESC's for crawlers and the smaller lipos we use and work his way up...
|
I echo the crawler stuff.

How about a list that can be compatible to the same part you are looking for or better many members need to make a purchase but are not knowledgable that a rustler can use parts from a bandit or stampede or the emaxx can use other parts that are better Hope u can understand what i mean. same with the tires I guess thats why there is a lot of browsin to find what they can use, dont know if that ok

I just struggle with having certain items in stock... Like the "universal diff/motor mount".
I emailed, pm'd, and got on the "notify me" list, but it's been months without reply. Also, I know mike can make custom parts, but how to make that happen and no idea what it might cost makes it hard to commit to a purchase. I want to support the store, but a new look doesnt do much for my issues. |

I did buy one second hand, but I've had multiple inquiries about what the mount is and where to get it (YouTube video)... I tell them RCM, but it's just never in stock... Pinkpanda3310, thanks much for the offer and I'll PM you with the person I'm currently chatting with about building his own. I'm sure he'd love to buy the real thing. |
