Wheel Info

Does anyone know of any aluminum wheels with 23mm hexes that will work with the CEN genesis? Need big tires too.

I'd see if you could get the savage 24mm adapters to work and step up to baja rims...

Those wheels are still plastic trying to get away from the plastic.

I don't subscribe to alum wheels (apart from crawling) - My cars take too many hits

Aluminum rims + bashing = Bent expensive rims that are now useless

Good luck !

well now I have plastic wheels with spun hexes in them so they are just as useless.

If they are 23mm then they probably just came loose. The 23mm rims are as bullet proof as your gonna get IMO.

17mm hexes are pretty much indestructible as well, as long as you keep the wheel nuts tight.

Nope, the cross pin broke, and the hex came off the axle, with the wheel nut as tight as could be. Held on by loctite. Hex still spun in the wheel. Torque is my mortal enemy!!

Would love to see Pics please ?

Aluminum rims

I have to agree. Aluminum rims are just for show. Too expensive for bashing with. Besides if you can not get your setup tight enough with the 23mm plastic rims, then using aluminum won't make any difference anyway. You need to work on your wheel holding technique and improve your setup.

i had a set of aluminum rims, now i have a pair of aluminum rims lol
i think if you never leave the ground they should be good, but even small jumps landed wrong can make them useless.
for the record though, i've never had a problem even with 14mm hexes as long as everything is tight like you said, but of course if a pin breaks your sol.
i use the stocker tires off a cen genesis with some 23mm hubs and they work good but the stock pins for my flux are alot smaller than the pin gap on the hub and they can move around quite a bit, so i've had several snap b/c they were too far one way or another. You think they have longer pins that could help with that that will still fit the stock axle size?
