serpent 960 problem
Hi there, i have serpent 960 EP with MMM 2200KV.
I ordered the speed passion kit for GP to EP but the motor mount doesn't fit to mamba 2200KV. Does some1 know where can i find motor mount for serpent 960 that will fit mamba 1515 2200KV?... Thanks alot guys. Idan |
I'm guessing its the size of the motor - Can you ship the mount higher or shave the motor?

The Speed Passion mount is made to accept 36mm diameter motors only, like the one they produce, basically a 540XL Feigao. Looks like it would be pretty difficult to make that mount work with a Castle motor. The way the mount is made has the motor is resting in the lower "cradle" along with being attached with the standard mounting screws in the front of the can.

Maybe the rc-monster revo motor mount adaptor might work ( bolts in place of a nitro engine like the SP kit does, but allows more room for the motor ). Otherwise, maybe an impaktrc motor mount.
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...d=RCMrevomount http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=4258 not sure where the mounting holes are on that chassis though, seems like they are quite far back, making the rc-monster mount a safer bet.. |

maybe some1 else know what can i do about that? btw, i thinking to replace the mamba 2200KV to Orion vortex 2300KV 4P, what can you say about this motor?.. i search the net to know what the diameter of this motor and i didn't find yet. idan. |
Judging by the pic simplechamp posted I think the mount can be modded to work. Shaving cradle and the fins of the motor where it interfere is one way to go. The other would be to elongate the holes in the mount to move the motor up.
You could also unscrew the motor mounting plate from the mount and make a new one that raises the motor up. Use the old plate as a template and move the bottom screws (the ones that attach the plate to the mount) down 3-4mm to raise the motor up. |
