Shocks on old maxx...I know, probably beaten to death...
 

I'm trying to hook my B'in Law up with some better shocks for his old school emaxx. I've searched on here a little and looks like losi 8 shocks have been mentioned several times. My question on those are is that buggy or truggy? Is there a difference between the two? Front or Rear? I'd think it would be better to get the longer rears, and shorten the stroke if need be....
If buggy, do guys just set them up with 4 shocks, or 8?
Also, looks like there are some decent buys on Mugen truggy shocks on ebay - should be about the same too, right?

I would think 2.0 rears. if you have the truck give me the length of the stockers

I dont have it - and I wouldn't trust him to get a decent measurment. I'll do some research and see if I can find what they are.

Yep, 4 rear shocks work great. The UE supershocks are basically Ofna Ultra buggy rears. I've seen buggy and truggy fronts and rears work on Maxxes.

Front for short travel, And Rears for long travel suspension. I had both 1/8 types. I suggest Rears if you have and adjustable shock tower. (Flm or UE) but fronts if stock or Similar. (RPM)

He's got FLM towers on it, so that's good. Now is that truggy, or buggy, or does it matter?

I would suggest the tried and true Ofna shocks (front or rear according to your shock tower) in the 13 or 14 mm variety. If you go too big in diameter you run into fitment issues with the arms and driveshafts especially if you hace the Revo style driveshafts...

Yeah, we upgraded the shafts last year, so there would be some fit issues with the bigger shocks.
I'll pop one of my 8T rears onto his next time he's over and see how that fits.

A great shock combo I have tried.
Ofna front buggy shocks with the proline bypass shocks.
