will this work for warranty purposes?

i have a brand new mamba max pro that has just been taken out of the box and i bought it unused from a friend. the bad part is, i didn't get the receipt.

i took a picture of the unused MMP with the current timeanddate.com calander behind it. the current day (8/29/10) is highlighted by timeanddate to specify which day today is.

is this enough to prove this ESC hasn't been used yet? i plan on soldering it up and using it once i get the warranty OK from castle if it is possible.

edit: yes, i know it is the 1-cell version. i will be using a castle BEC with it. i also added a better picture

I dont know what Castle's stance will be, but normaly warrenties are non-transferable, even if the item hasnt been used by the previous owner, and even if you had the receipt ( might be difficult to prove you arent the original owner if you didnt say anything though in an instance when you did have the receipt... )

the box wasn't even open when i got it. i broke the factory seal and took the mamba pro out of the box as soon as it showed up in the mail. i think my chances of still getting the warranty would have been better if i had not opened it and just taken pictures of the sealed box.

edit: i still have the paypal info if that helps.

Does your friend have their receipt? I know you said you didn't get it, but do they have it?

There is also an internal decal on the board that they can also use for repairs, and determine if it is a waranty,or a $70.00 bill.Either way you cant g
o wrong.

that's what i thought about the 2 MMMs i had to send in. each of them had a little part come loose from the board. the 2nd one (the replacement for the first one) only lasted about 5 mins of easy, slow street runs. castle made everything right and even sent me a pre-paid mailer for the 2nd MMM because it only lasted 5 min. they had no problem fixing it for free, but that was because i had the receipt and even the first one was only a couple months old.

btw, the 3rd one has been running good except for the fact that the fan runs more than twice as much even though the setup and the gearing are the same in the buggy all these MMMs have been used in. with the exception of the fan running more than half the time (the first MMM fan rarely even turned on, even on the hardest runs) it runs just fine though.

Cc customer service.

CC's customer service is probably the best out of the R/C support companies, and for the most part all you do is send in the product and let them know when you purchased it. As long as it appears new and is not destroyed due to neglect or misuse they will take care of you promptly. If you go and explain all of this crap then they are likely to close the door on you and say no. Sometime too much information is not a good thing. Quite frankly I doubt that CC cares one way or another how you came to own their product as long as it is a genuine part, fairly new, and failed due to a quality issue with the CC item in question. Anything else is irrelevant and should not be shared with anyone.
