Recomended ESC's for 10s fun?
I was wondering.. what are the best ESC's for 10s?
I'm really looking forward to the new HV CC ESC, but I was wondering, what kind of current ESCS support 10s for cars? I've seen very cheap heli/plane escs used for 10s in cars, but how much know how does this actually require? Do you need to modify the ESC itself? Any info on 8s+ escs and how to use em in cars would be greatly appreciated! :) |
MGM-compro has a quite wide range of ESC's with brake => models up to 15s, here's the link for the 10s
http://mgm-compro.com/index.php?tid=...-boat-e-series Another alternative with brakes are the Schulze ESC's http://www.schulze-elektronik-gmbh.de/ the fut-xl-32.200WK is a 10s 200A version, the 32.100 is rated at 100A I have used both brands and both has been smooth w/o cogging, with quite good brakes. |
Thank you. Schulze ones would definiately be the best choice for 10s running I guess, but wow it's expensive. 700$ or so, 500$ for an additional 4s.
And any news on the upcoming CC controller? Can the Ice one be used with 8s-10s on cars with brakes? or a combination of mechanical brakes? |
As for using flight ESC's in cars I have limited experience. I used the Jeti spin200 in my savage, but the gas response felt dull and I used the fastest response possible. Others have reported better results, sometimes with the CC's. I have only used the smaller CC's so I cannot say anything about the ICE - sorry.

i have used the HV110 for a few years in my revo conversion and love it

Just so I know what I might get into if I buy it, what exactly do you need to do to get it up and running in a car?
|
pistix and mechanical brakes
|
Sweet! Will have to check that out some time.
But what about the Kershaw ESC? Anyone previewed it? http://204.186.93.64/BrushlessESCs-Gen2.htm |
Never seen it, seem to be a bargain. Does anyone know it it has breaks? I couldn't find the spec on the page..
|
Probably. It's part of a combo with a Kershaw motor for 1/5 cars.
Their new 1/10 combo got a pretty good review - only 99$. Just hope this one will hold up as well.. |
