Quark 80B
did a little research seems like it'll be fine for my stampede setup but not so much for the 1/8th
PS what would you setup guru's recommend? I was thinking for the pede with 1/8th extension and pro-line moab tires quark 80b and Feigao L sized motor maybe a 6 or 7L? also how would they perform on 2s cells maybe even the occasional 3s runs would be geared for about 40mph not looking for top speeds just bashing at a local track that's it |
Do you have it already, or were you considering buying it?
I'd skip it really, go for something much more modern & with better support- MMPro or tekin RS for example. L can motor will be fine, feigaos do tend to run warm regardless, especially the higher kv models- I think if you're wanting to stretch a pede then go with 4s lipo & a ~2000-2700kv motor, rather than just 2s lipo and a ~3500kv motor.. |
I run a Quark 80 car esc in a rc10 GT conversion with w 1200XL lehner basic and 5s, for a lightweight truck like the stampede you will be fine. The Quarks have less heatsink area than most esc's, so you might need a fan for higher amp loads, Like L can fegaio and 2s
I also agree with neil, If you got it now, great use it. If you plan to get one, I'd go with something with support. Quark pulled out of America a few years ago |
naw i was considering it but the deal didn't go through so I'll just get an MMP
|
I think you will be much happier with that choice. Ease of use and customer service will be much better.

I will say that as far as the quark VS the mamba max, the quark is still smoother and feels better. I can't say anything about the pro or the monster, But for their time the quark was the best out there. Too bad they pulled out of the U.S.

The 80B is actually less than a MM current-wise. The 125B uses the same number and type of FETs as the original MM, so I would say the 80B is somewhat closer to a Sidewinder. The only advantage to the Quark is that it runs 5s prefectly fine.
As far as smoothness is concerned, a CC ESC with the newer firmware is very close, if not better, than the Quark. Like people have said; if you have the Quark, use it. But if you are looking to buy an ESC, I would go with a MM or something similar. And I just happen to have a NIB MM sitting around. |
