Well my MMM went up in smoke!

Well it's finally happened.

Did a few minutes of practice laps before start of race, then pulled into my grid position for the start of the race, was stopped for 20-30 Seconds and when i hit the throttle for the start of the race all i got was smoke. lol

Would like to know if it's worth sending in to repair as i'm in Australia..
it's no longer under warranty, Has anyone from AUS sent theres back and if so what was the postage cost roughly.

Thanks.

I assume you can easily find postage costs on a carriers website that is active in your country.

CC will fix / replace and (I believe) send back your ESC for $70 USD. (fill in you product on the blue square on the right hand side of the site.

For what its worth.

Not sure what you paid for it, or how long you have used it, but I would just ship it to CC and let them figure things out for you. The worst would be that they will charge you a repair fee and then ship it back to you. Once they receive it they will shoot you an email and let you know whats up. Make sure when you send it in that you provide a short letter and info so they know who they are deailng with. All said and done it may just be cheaper to purchase a new one. Good luck.

If it's over a year it might be a v1 or 2 in which case it is a free replacement.

It's was one of the first cc2200 Combos so pretty sure it's a V3.

If you allow roughly AU$100 that should cover non-warranty repair/replacement, conversion rate and shipping. Only thing is you will have to wait several weeks to get it back, so it is a good idea to buy another one and then you will have a spare for if it happens again.

It might sound a little pricey if you are on a budget but the new one will have a new warranty. If it goes out of warranty, replacement esc's will only cost AU$100 and you won't have to wait for it as you have a spare.

I replaced my case cause it was cracked so I have to go by the board. Its brown with bullets only on the motor side so it must be V1.

freeagent 10.02.2010 04:54 PM

Thats weird.. Ive had 3 V3's, my oldest shipped with 1.19 firmware, and is a tank, the second was the flux one, and I have a brand spankin new one in my truggy, and non of them had bullets for the battery wires, they have all been soldered to the board

Bmr4life 10.02.2010 04:58 PM

The newest v3's don't have bullets on the battery side.

freeagent 10.02.2010 05:29 PM

My oldest v3 is close to 2 years old now :)

So my V1 just went up in smoke. Do I do a warranty claim through the website since its a V2 even though I don't have a receipt?

Arct1k 10.26.2010 07:11 PM

Yes just warranty it through the web site v1/2 will be replaced with new or RECONDITIONED units
