Slash 4x4 owners...diff fluid suggestions

I am building my slash 4x4 and was wondering what diff oil you all are running. No racing for me...just bashing

I will be running a center diff as well

for bashing 250k center, 150k front,30k rear is fun

why so thick fluids?

Off topic...anyone have to shim diffs and if so, what washers

Watch the Traxxas center diffs. The 2 I had were wobbly...

I ran 10K in front, 20K in center, and 5K in rear. I liked this setup for bashing it and racing. I pretty much followed Slayden's race setup minus swaybars.

30k front 7k rear 100K center with FLM alu center diff and bearing kit.
with a MMM 2650 and 2 turnigy 5000 MAH 20c in series gets me great 25+ run times bashing and is great fun imo.

still unsure of your answer. There seems to be a bit more play in the pinion gear than I normally run on my truggy. I am only going to run a 3s set up max

What did you use for gearing?

Bondonutz 10.03.2010 12:06 PM

10K F, 100K C, 7K R for my offroad track set up.

I run 10/30,000/10 on my 3s race setup and has worked well for about a year on multiple tracks and some occasional front yard test runs. Depending on your motor choice you might want to go thicker in the center. I run a 550 and the 30k works well. Any larger of a motor I would use 50k+.

I plan on running a Tekin 2650 motor on 3s or one of the new Tekin SC4 motors when they come out so maybe 50K fluid would be a better choice
