Do you think 1512 1800 motor could be run with the mamba max esc on 3s without burning up the esc? I would like to run this in my slash 4x4 with truggy tires.

It wil work just fine. The 1800KV engine has more tork but will pull less amps. You will have more tork less speed cooler operating temps and and longer runtimes in comparison to higher KV motors.

Do you already have the MM, or are you window shopping currently?

The MM will work fine I'd say, though the MMPro ( cheaper normally, better spec ) would be preferable. Might wanna tack on an external BEC and capacitor to the MM though when running larger motors like this- 9XL used to be a popular motor option for running in MTs before the MMM came along...

I already have a mamba max. But If it won't work I will buy a mamba monster. I run medusa 3650 4800 with the mamba max with no problems at all. Just want a bigger motor for running the bigger truggy tires on the slash 4x4.

Pretty sure you can send the Max into castle and they will upgrade you to a Max Pro for a few bucks

Mamba Max are on sale now for $75 and the max pro's can be found for $110 or so

I'm about to install the same motor in my Slash 4x4 and I'm going to use the Mamba Monster

I chose the Monster as I believe the smaller ESC's are prown to bec related issues

Yes it will work just fine. No Mods. Just plug n play. My Mamba Max takes 4s with just BEC and fan (No caps, but it would help running 15 volts) on the CCNeu 2650 (Amp Hog). So I know you will be more than fine with lower kv and lower voltage. The MM is the Champ on 3s with no mods... (4s with mods, I've heard 5 or 6s with serious mods.)

I've raced that exact setup for two race days in my hyper 10sc with no problems. Only mod was to change the motor connectors to 4mm to match the mamba max.

I've been using my 1800 with one of my mmpros and it works great. Geared for 40 my motor hits about 160 and esc 140. If you do decide to upgrade the esc the mmpro is a nice option.

I'm using my mamba max with the motor and it seem to work fine on 3s . I changed the 4mm bullets to the 6.5 to match the motor. I have the motor geared 19/54 with the 5.6 inch truggy tires my slash will wheel on demand even though I run the center diff. Will post pictures later.
