4 shock set up

I'm going to make a lightweight version of my BL LST (seen here http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2739)and i need some lighter shocks. The target weight is 10.5-11 lbs, what would be the best 4 shock setup for a vehicle that weight? Traxxas big bores? I'll need 5 lb springs i reckon.

I'll make some shorter, wider towers for the shorter shocks, might sandwich the standoffs like on the Havoc.

Other shocks i was thinking of was maybe the fronts from the Baja 5B,can't find what length they are or what they weigh or what spring rates you can get for it though,it's still not available yet i think.

If the ue shocks would fit I would run them. I think serum had them on a 14lb savage with 4. I had them on a gmaxx that was 14lbs to. The black springs are strong enough to hold it up.

Do you know what length the UE ones are? The LST shocks are 6 inches long so if they're only about 4 inches then i need to make some very short towers.I think could make that work though,it'd save a whole heap of weight,4 of the stockers weighs over 1.1 lbs.

Any idea what 4 buggy shocks weighs?

4.5 in hole to hole. The savage shocks are longer. They about 6inches hole to hole.

OK thanks,i've been searching on the UE forums for the length of the UE ones.

So it's between the UEs and some savage shocks,i could use the stock towers with 4 savage shocks if there's heavy enough springs available.

Am i the only one not getting e-mails at the moment when there's a new post?

savage shocks are 162mm

the A712 is a nice shock. i know rcboyz.com sells dual rate springs (progressive) for about 7 bucks per 8

Thanks for the help,I've got some hellfire shocks off e-bay to try, they're in between usual rear buggy length and Savage length,132 mm,5.2" (or so i'm told). They have fairly small piston holes and come with a few different pistons,2x1.4mm and 2x1.6mm,the stock oil is only 20 weight.

I want to make some new towers anyway, with more mounting holes and more low profile look, and it'd be cool to sandwich the standoffs like the Havoc.

I've worked out i can lose over a kg from the 13lb(ish) that it is at the moment and still run a 1950 on 6s,it'd be nice to get it down to 10lbs though RTR.i'm wondering if a 4 or 5s may even be enough for a racing setup, maybe with just a 1940.
