Help!

Ok...I have a mrx-3 that I converted to BL using a 1512 1800kv on 6s running a spektrum set up and I have an issue. The car hesitated badly upon startup and then after a few seconds rockets away. Now, sometimes it will just barely crawl on the floor...take it off of the floor and put it on my stand and the throttle response is crisp and it seems to act as it should. I have fiddled w/the spek rx for an hour, rebinded rx, redid esc bind, etc...with no luck.

I charged the batts fully a week ago so they should be good

any ideas? I just checked all my solder joints and they seem all good

Ok did a bit more testing...dropped in a 5s instead of the 2 3s in series and it came to life a lot more. I also changed the dead band in the software a bit. So, it is either the batteries or the series connector. For wire I used 12G stranded wire only because it is what I had. Should I use different wire for the series connection?

The batts I am using are Zippy 20-30C 5K w/10G wire...I am thinking that the 12G adapter is not big enough to hold the load

Firmware. Lots of people are having issues lately with the v1.29- downgrade to 1.24/ 1.21 and the issue should disappear; seems to be more pronounced with higher voltage setups...

12G series connector is fine, it wont impede the flow at all so long as the solder joints are solid.

12awg would not affect startup. What connectors are on the packs? (sorry if I missed where you said it) One of them may be worn out, it's not necessarily a bad solder joint.

Didn't you have the same problem a few weeks back in another thread? I guess you checked into the one way and the 2 speed like I suggested in that thread? Because if the motor is spinning and the car isn't moving, or moving slower than it should while the motor is revving to the moon, then the issue still sounds mechanical to me. I only bring it up again for clarification of the problem and the previous thread was never updated telling us if the problem was in the 2 speed or not.

OK magman, now that this has happened you are officially allowed to complain about having rotten luck.

You are correct...however what I did was have the one way bearing removed, installed a spacer which was pressed together with the hub and now I have reverse w/an 1/8 on road!

The power issue was just a firmware issue actually. I went back three updates and it works great so far...only tested in basement as of now. Neil suggested this to me

Today is a new day so I am optimistic!

The way you described the problem just sounded so much like the other thread. Good to hear you're getting everything sorted out. It's annoying at times, but part of the fun too IMO. Now get out of the basement and really run that sucker!!

It is surely annoying at times. There have been many a night where something was not going right and I had to walk away from it till the next day.

With this issue I had I tried every adjustment on the radio & esc except the firmware....never even crossed my mind to check it to be honest and with minimal testing so far so good:yipi:
