maybe a silly question but look...
 

all you guys making brushless powered bikes and stuff i just noticed that we are now getting brushless powered drills and impact guns. i know a cheap alternative to a motor controller is a servo tester, but i'm wondering about the controls and these cordless tools. we may be looking at limited power handleing, but idk maybe not. regardless there is a spring returned trigger and some sort of motor controller in them.

Wow, what a price tag on that thing. Interesting find though.

They very well may use the same pot used on a servo tester.

Picture a Rack and Pinion Gear Set.

The Pinion goes on the "Servo Tester" pot and the Rack is on the trigger.

Just FYI, the second link doesn't include the charger or 2 batteries, so that's probably why the price is so low. Those li-ion batteries are expensive, and so is Makita. Still an interesting find, thought that would happen sooner nor later, wonder if it uses an outrunner and how much gear reduction there is.. in the drill version you probably don't want 30,000+ RPM :whistle:

I would also expect to see a sensored setup in there because of the high chance for motor stalling.
