North korea, uh oh??

Don't know if anyone out there is watching the news right now, but North Korea started firing artilary into South Korea around 3PM this afternoon. A few hundred shells by all accounts on CNN. What is this moron thinking? Nothing happens in North Korea whithout Kim Jong il directing it. So from what we can gather South Korea returned fire for about an hour, but now things are quiet. One death on this side noted so far(south Korean soldier), but what they were up to no one knows. They just started dropping crap on one of our off shore islands on teh West side for the fun of it I guess. The island is all farmers just trying to survive minding their own business. They are pretty much cut off from the rest of the world and are no threat to anyone. I believe he is just playing with everyone trying to see what kind of reaction they will receive. Politically correct my a$$. We just need to put an end to this guys terror and get it over with, before his son takes over completely. Glad we are leaving here soon. We have spent over six years here in total over two postings since 2001. Whats incredible to us is just how many Americans actually live here full time. Tons of retirees who married Korean women many years ago. The best guesses are that there are well over 100,000 US citizens living here on the local economy. Plus we have about 60 bases here loaded up with our military. Lets just hope that we do not have to re-live that war again. I will post up when we hear anything else. Wish us luck and pray for all of us.

Maybe it's a lesson in dictatorship!? How to use military power to strike fear..... From what I've heard the little p#!(* is worse than dad so why he would need any help in that direction?????????????:diablo:

You are right Jerry, the sooner that family is nuetralised the better. Being from a different place I find it hard to understand how one man can wield so much power for so long, doing things that seem obviously wrong to the rest of us.

I heard it's about some boarder infraction out in the Ocean.

JERRY2KONE 11.23.2010 09:35 AM

Correct

OK what happened is this. NATO has set boundries many years ago for both countries to observe in trying to keep the peace. The North does not recognize these boarderies, and refuses to follow anyone else's instructions regarding what he deems as his territory:whistle:. The ROK Army was conducting drills just south of the boarder areas, and the North sent a message telling them to stop making noise, and when the noise did not stop they began firing artilary into the South Korean area bombing civilian housing areas on a tiny Island. This is a penis envy issue and nothing more. Everyone just hopes that the North will wise up and stop the madness. Thats like expecting a saine asylum to begin running the country knowing full well that they are not capable of doing so:oh:. Oh wait that is already happening:na:.

isn't killing a country's leader the fastest way to cause a war???

You wonder what that little $h1t is upto now that he's getting ready to take over for Daddy. Trying to prove he's the new Big Man in charge?

Between this, the sunken ROK warship, and their new enrichment plant they are just screaming for an asskicking. Dear Leader likes to talk some crap while he hides behind his brainwashed zombie army.

Lucky for them we're flat broke!

And in WWII terminology, a nuke is the fastest way to end it

JERRY2KONE 11.23.2010 06:12 PM

Nuke?

It will never be a nuke. Too much chance of fallout for South Korea, China, and Japan. Plus the use of weapons of mass destruction is a no no. If this keeps up the ROK Army is going to loose patients and just over run the North. From all accounts they are now large enough to over power the North. The only problem is can they do it fast enough to keep the North from shooting rockets into the South?

gtxracer 11.23.2010 06:18 PM

I didn't say nuke them, I just said it's how we handled things in WWII.

I assume you're worried because you're stationed in Seoul? Hope you've been working out and got your sights locked in and have been at the range lately...

JERRY2KONE 11.23.2010 09:56 PM

Not me.

Not me. I am retired US Navy and have been out for quite some time (1997). I am merely a civilian/Gov contractor working here, and if anything were to escalate we would be immediately evacuated. Trust me the ROK military is very large here, and the US presence here is still quite sizable. If war were to break out here again I would believe that there would no longer be a North Korea. The people here only want peace, but please believe me they will fight with honor and never give up until things subside. Like any political arena there are people for, and there are people against unification, but most do believe that eventually it will happen. One Korea. Only time will tell. Thank God today is a quiet day.

I thought the rumor was that KJI was and has been dead for a year or so? Nobody has really seen him in a while right?

JERRY2KONE 11.23.2010 11:03 PM

Not.
