Need your advice about custom maxx chassis braces
I am thinking about custom braces for my emaxx. I am inspired by FLM braces. These are 7mm thick 6061 T6 aluminum. I am going to make mine out of 7075 T6 and not sure if 0.190 (4.82mm) is enough. In my opinion it would be even stonger than 7mm 6061 T6 ones because 7075 T6 is twice stronger. Any way, tell me your thoughts

Go for it. I think 4.82mm is plenty enough.

It could be strong enough, depending on the design, but that material is not thick enough to screw through to attach the braces to the chassis, transmission, and skids. Unless you find another way to attach them to those components it won't work. If you need a source for thicker 7075 plate there's www.OnlineMetals.com and www.SpeedyMetals.com
Edit: Just to add to what I was saying, you probably want at least 6mm thick plate, as some of the holes are 3mm, leaving 1.5mm at minimum for each side. |
than I'llgo for 0.25 7075 T6

Looks good to me.
