Look at my new Savage Flux :whip:

... NOT !! :whip:

Can they really just copy a Flux without any law suits or stuff?

toplakd 12.01.2010 07:12 AM

Where do you see a COPY. All I see is just another electric RC car.

Finnster 12.01.2010 09:54 AM

Maybe not an outright copy, but certainly heavily, heavily Savage influenced.

Basically a cheap knockoff flux with a KD motor mount and hobby wing esc. A servosaver horn on a 300oz servo sucks. But it is only ~$370

More like a converted Savage X. Does look like some serious copyright infringement going on there.

Im with Toplakd. That is not a copy, however it is similar. But as far as i can tell there is not one part that is the same as a savage part. If you wanna see an outright copy of something then look at the King Motors copy of the Baja 5B. There was also a complete rip-off of the losi LST, had the same body, same paint job and everything.

I'd have to concur. It is similiar, sure. But most TVP monster trucks I've seen in nitro version are very similiar so one would imagine that most are quite similiar in an electric variant.

Its really no different than ALL of the 1/8 scale buggies looking almost exactly the same. HPI hit a homerun on the TVP chassis, its no wonder other manufacturers are following suit.

It actually looks really good. It's nice that it comes with aluminum threaded shocks. It's also nice that it allows for use of a larger motor like the castle 1800kv. A 300 oz servo, it includes two lipos, cool body, more protected ESC, and possibly some better designed battery trays (look a little small?) Plus it's only $370. Seams worth a try. Though parts will be a pain to get. It's almost worth it to get it, put in a castle system, and see how it does!

On that note, just because it has a similar design to a savage does not mean the drivetrain will be any stronger than butter. My guess is that the diffs and tranny gears are not very strong at all. But who knows? Maybe all the gears are interchangeable with savage stuff. I would look into it before purchasing one

that was the one thing I was thinking about. We'll have to see.
