4WD SC Truck...
So looking at getting a 4WD SC truck to run a XXXX motor on 3S with 1/8th scale truggy wheels; essentialy looking for a 3 diff 10th scale monster truck.
Slash 4x4 Platinum Ofna Hyper 10SC Jammin SCRT Slash has a center diff option, but looks kinda spindly, requires a new center driveline, and must be able to get rid of the stupid sliders. Ofna; are there any issues? I haven't run across any yet in my searching. Jammin; lots here and elsewhere about it using smaller than standard SC tires so needs an extended front shock tower and longer front shocks. I've not had an Hog Nor or a Jammin' so am not really familiar with build quality, etc. on these. Thoughts? P.S. Oh I know about the Ten-T, but I try and avoid horizon... except for the spektrum gear I have (I'd trade it out for Futaba, but don't feel like shelling the money out right now). |
Seems like your trying to fill a specific niche that nothing really covers yet.. Just a suggestion
Get a buggy, put a truggy chassis plate under it (longer wheelbase) and modify SC body mounts to fit. should be beefier and handle the power better |
Yeah, I know.. :)

I have an Ofna Hyper 10SC, surprisingly tough truck, does the big triples just like my 1/8th scales.

Any of the 1/10 scale stuff won't last very long with 1/8 scale Truggy wheels. If you do decide to try this project make sure you gear it really low or you will just be burning up motors, esc's, and breaking lots of drive train.

I've had the Hyper 10SC and now have the SCRT10, both are great trucks, the Ofna is a tank, but bent rear dog bones is an issue, I found the SCRT10 does handle better, but the front bumper is pretty weak (modified a Slash RPM bumper to fit mine), also has a receiver box wheras the Hyper 10SC leaves everything out in the open. The SCRT10 comes with smaller than standard wheels for some reason so factor the cost of new wheels/tyres etc in.

1.) Converted Losi Ten-T or 810
2.) Durango 4x4 sct |
P.S. Oh I know about the Ten-T, but I try and avoid horizon... :)

The little guy is beefy. I would say the driveline would be better suit for big tires than others in this category. I know how folks hate Horizon and all but I never have had any problems with any of the Losi's I have owned. In fact I am actually looking at that 22 for the next project/racer RC.

..I wish Losi would embrace the metric system.
