Looking for a 7s + balancer

So I would like to find a 7s balancer. I would like something I can charge thru, and will interrupt the charge sorta like a lba balancer does. But I can handle a stand alone like the astro blinky.

Or a cheap charger that can do 7s plus. Even a 50 watt charger would be fine, not looking to set the world on fire, just looking for a solution to keeping my milwauke v28 7s emoli packs alive.

Also, how are 7s packs usually wired? With a 4s and a 3s tap? Or a 5s and 2s? Have not seen many 7s specific taps. What does the hyperion 720i use?

Thanks guys, as always the pleasure was all yours.

Looks like a cheap option:

Will have to put a balance tap and a direct plug to the main leads on the battery. The milwaukee has some sort of built in LVC / charge circuit inside the battery case. Make swapping cells a huge PITA. And at 120 bucks a pack not swapping a dead cell would be plain stupid.

I have a few packs that have all dead cells, plan to get some 2500mah or so lipos that fit and make 7s packs. I have some neu 30c 2500mah cells that will be the 1st to go in.

Ok, had another look at HC. Seems like this charger would be better:

A few bucks more but gets better reviews and I hav eused turnigy chargers before.

Looks like you're answering your own question, lol.

The Thunderpower TP210 balancer is rated for 10s. I just created adapters so I can use any balance plug with 0.1" spacing. Something along these lines:

if I follow this all correctly-

Pimp said answering his questions would be the respondees pleasure.

Then he answered his own questions.

So, like many times before, Linc has tricked an unknown group into watching him pleasure himself.:surprised:

Good luck on the 7s marital aid James:na:

Yeah, yeah...

Think I will get the charger, as that tp balancer is about the same price. Still need to find a decent source for 8 wire/pin balance plugs, both male and female, or some other sort of 8 pin connector.

I got tired of trying to find matching harnesses for various pack connectors, so I just went with the pin style setup. I have a couple balance boards that come with the Hyperion 0615 Duo3 if they will help you out...

Yes, I do remember that hyperion use an 8 pin wire setup. I will let you know, still looking for a suitable connector, like a multi pin deans, that can be glued flush into the front of my milwaukee packs. Do not want a pig tail hanging out, but would like a way to charge them with a hobby charger/balancer.

So I have decided to go with the turnigy 8s charger. Does anyone have experience with this (accucell 8150)?

both the turnigy and eco line of hobbycity chargers are fine. i actually prefer the eco line of chargers a little more due to better heatsinking and better performing fans. my main charger right now is the eco6-10 200w charger. it cost $32 in the US warehouse and it is perfectly accurate and charges any battery chemistry. i have even charged a dead 105ah car battery at 10 amps continuously for 5 hours and the charger was only lukewarm. (maybe 10F higher than ambient)

my old charger is a turnigy accucel-6 and the 50w limit got old pretty quick when charging 4-6s lipos. with my eco charger, i can charge anything at 10a except for 6s, which will still do 9a.

i also have a GT power 6-10 200w charger, but i killed the balancer when i hooked 2 3s lipos in series the wrong way and shorted out the 3rd cell resisters in the charger. now, that charger cannot balance cell #3 and cell #3 will come off that charger too high. this charger is now specifically used for non-lithium batteries.
