setup suggestions for MGM compro

My new esc MGMcompro xseries arrived today. (160a 26v) I bought it to try a different esc on my 808e buggy but the setups of the esc is very unusual. Is thee any MGM compro x series users with some setup advices?

You're the first person thats bought one- given what a pain in the anus they are to setup you'll probably be the only one too. Heres the RC-Monster translation of the regular MGM escs, this might help:

I've pc connection tool so setup is not big problem but the setup parameters are a little different. for example you should choose mili seconds to determine the acceleration. I need help to understand these parameters.

The older MGMs used seconds for acceleration so maybe it's just more specific now. It sets the minimum time to reach full throttle, like punch control... What is the range you can adjust it through?

you can adjust it between 0.1 second and 60 seconds. stock adjustement is 0.5 second. What did you use to adjust this setting? did do older ones have freewheel option, if yes do you use it on or off?

Yes, use freewheel on. If it is off, the esc will reduce motor speed when you let off the throttle (no coasting). The acceleration time setting is like punch control... use low time for no (or little) punch control, use higher time for more punch control. I usually use setting 2 or 3 on the low end, gives a little punch control.

Thanks for the info. Are you happy with the MGM esc? how long did you use it? My first opinion is that it's smoother than MMM do you agree?

I like the MGM ESC's; I have had several over the last couple years. I still run one in my Muggy, and I have another that's currently not in use, that I should probably sell. Not sure if it's smoother than MMM, but very close.

Do the MGM ESCs still have that funky breaking glitch? I had a couple of them and they were good except for one weird glitch that made them unusable for me. Once out of 100 times when you hit the brakes it would actually accelerate for a second or 2 before braking. Not a big deal of you are out in the middle of a grass field, but on a track it was an absolute disaster. I went to hit the brakes at the end of the main straight and it accelerated for another couple seconds and smashed straight into a cement wall... ESC came out of the truggy never to be used again.

I have to imagine they have this fixed now. Its been over a year since I last tried the MGMs but Im just bringing it up as something to pay attention to, just in case. Just to save you some of the hassle that I had.

All the newer versions have fixed the brake/reverse issues.
