Strobe slipper
I just received my strobe kit. It came with pads and the plate. BUt what screws do i use to attach it to the gear? I need four. Also, the diagram looks like it has two ways to go on. Does the plate go dish down as the gear. or does the gear go dish down and the plate dish up? make sense?:002:

neweuser, have you checked on rc-monster it has the installation of the strobe slipper there. you can use the 4-40 screws as squee said.
Yes, that's what i'm talking about. if you look close at it, the top picture shows it different than the actual diagram. the picture shows the gear dish side towards you, and the plate dish towards you. the diagram shows the gear dish side towards the screws and the plate dish side going away....see it?

thanks for any help!!!
intallation is like this: plate, disk, bearing, slipper with pads, disk and then the hex plate. then the spring and locknut.
Thanks, the order is clear, but the problem i'm having is the plate has a dished side. does that go into the gear or out from the gear..make sense? i know it's hard to explain, have you ever owned a robinson racing slipper? they referr to dish in, and dish out. View the ends of the pics on the diagram, see the shadows? now notice the pic above..notive the middle of the plate is dished? or what they call dished? the ends of the plate are thicker than the middle of the plate....does that help what i'm asking?
oh....i know what your talking about now. i understand. yea, it doesnt matter. it just depends on your truck.
I had the same problem and found that one way the gears would not line up and the other they did. As for the screws use as short as possible and make sure you use loc-tite.
OK, as long as they line up and i use lock tite. the reason why i asked is because with my robinson, i burned a few not putting them in right. learned a lesson after two. general rule with those was dish down dish down, so when i saw the confilcting pics...hmmm, made me wonder!! thanks again! Not to go off the subject here, but where did youguys mount your controller on a stock chasis? my wires aren't long enough to make it the motor if i mount in the rear...so i did a mod with an old shock tower body mount and the novak motor hole cover to lay the controller on top next to the motor...i wish i could get my pics going, it might work good!!! i'm worried about interference as it's real close to the reciever....motor wires that is...

It uses M3 screws.
M3? Can you elaborate on that?
M3 screws are the ones that you use throughout the truck.
3mm screws. I am not sure on the length. I counter sunk my spur. It made it alot cleaner looking.
Or if you dont wanna counter sink your gear, you can use button head screws.
i may counter them. i like a clean look. still trying to pics on guys. coolhand, i went to rcpics, and somehow cameout livedigital. but not sure how to get them on a link, it's all my login..not sure how to transfer on public yet...but will keep trying!
