Homemade Brushless Baja 5B style Buggy
Ok guy's i built this about 5 months ago.
It's based on a Muggy with a stretched chassis to meet 1/5th scale length, I picked up a Muggy as a roller and the idea started from there. ESC = Hobbywing 150amp Motor = CC 1717 lipo's = 3s 5000mah in series http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...c/IMG_0266.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...c/IMG_0264.jpg And this is where it all started...... http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101189.jpg |
Looks very nice - more pics please - show us how you did it.
:great: |
That thing is wicked! Looks like 2wd from the photos, why not 4wd? I know the Baja is only 2wd but with the muggy platform why not? Nonetheless a great job.
|
Definitly very cool, nice job. And yes, show us more of it!
|
Thanks guy's yes many more photo's and video's to come. Definantly 4wd guy's.....

Starting to take some shape at this stage
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101212.jpg The muggy link is as you can see very thin and easy to bend so i made my own link, much bigger. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101215.jpg The rear tower was very short so i got one that straightens the shocks out http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101219.jpg |
HHHhhhmmmmm bearings much better
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101228.jpg Mounts for the front of the boll cage http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101237.jpg http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101240.jpg much bigger than my truggy http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...1020101243.jpg |
Wow,very nice build,is it just 2wd? Why not keep the muggys 4wd?
|
Looks like its 4WD to me. You can see the rear drive shaft and the extended front drive shaft.

The front alloy prop shaft did't last long so a 12mm steel one now sits in it's place.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...c/IMG_0558.jpg Got a 33kg servo that can handle up to a 3s lipo from HK for about $80 delivered. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...c/IMG_0512.jpg |
