Need help with MM ESC?
I hope someone from CC can help me out. I have a Mamba Monster ESC with a Neu-Castle 2200 KV motor. They are mounted in a 3905 Emaxx. Last night it ran great. Today I switched over to NiMH batteries and used the field link to make the needed changes in the programming. When I turned it on it would not arm completely. I get the first set of beeps and the ESC light blinks red. Using my computer I changed everything back to the settings I normally run. Lips with the LVC set at 3.2 volts. Now when I turn it one I get the first set of beeps and the 4 beeps for the 4s batteries and then just a blinking red light. One thing I just thought of that is strange, I have steering control but no throttle control. I have tried every thing I can think of which is not all that much. Any help would be great.

Sounds like it needs to be recalibrated to your tx. Didn't happen to switch models by accident or anything? I would try to recalibrate it after you set it for ni-mh. On a side note the nickle packs will get hot and dissapoint after running lipo. Good luck with the mmm sounds like it's just something silly that got overlooked.

That’s what I was thinking; it is just stupid that I did. Now all I have to do is figure out what it was. I ran continuity checks on all the leads, the ones to the receiver and they were good.
By recalibrate do you mean to re-bind the Tx to the Rx? I am going to have to look that one up. I just hate the thought of having to ship into CC for repairs. It will fall into the black hole of shipping. |
Well, I went through the re-bind steps and am still at the same place. Crap.

Try recalibrating the esc to your radio. Hold full throttle when you turn on the esc. It will take a sec and beep a few times after blinking green. Then do full brake until it beeps a few times again while flashing red. The do neutral while flashing yellow and beeps a few more then it should arm normally.

By calibrate he means...
Hold the receiver full throttle while turning on the MMM Wait till the green LEDs turn solid and the red begin to flash Hold full brake till the reds turn solid and the yellows start flashing Let the throttle return to neutral, wait for the MMM to arm. EDIT: slimthelineman types faster than me :-) |
Dah! That did it. Like slimthelineman said, something simple but it took this old man all day to get it fixed. Thanks guys.

You should make it a habit to re-calibrate after changing settings in the software...

Glad you got it runnin again. I've had this happen once or twice in the past so I was familiar with the flashing red light inciting feelings of anger.
