Hydra Ice HV 200
Check this out: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/hydra_ice.html
They list the brake as proportional, and the reverse as reverse w/lockout... Could this be our car 12s esc... If it has proportional brakes and reverse with lockout then it sounds like car programming to me... Wonder if pdel could cast some light on this. Would car braking forces destroy the esc, as boat braking is not really much more than stopping the prop from freewheeling. Wonder what kind of programming the esc will have? The original hydea hv esc is pretty light on programming, not much more than lipo cutoff on castlelink. |
Yeah, I'm excited too Linc... That would be a kick *ss ESC for Car.. 8880 Watt, now we're talking... I almost want to order one, because I don't need reverse or brakes... But I'm not sure if the air cooling would be sufficient for the 200A rating...

hopefully Pdelcast chimes in. If so I have this to say to him-
Pdelcast- Everyone wants "more power" which Castle is always increasing. I don't think the truly power hungry would mind a physically larger ESC. The big schulze ESC is the size of 3 Mamba XL's. Would larger components and a larger ESC help power handling? It is amazing that you can make such powerful controllers in such a small package. Thanks for that. I think there is a market for a big powerhouse though. |

Hi Guys,
The Hydra ICE line has a low-torque startup... and no proportional braking. I think the website is incorrect about the proportional braking, but I'll double check with the software guys. Thanx! |
