1415 or 1512 for 1/10 SC 4WD?

I already have a few MMM's and a 1512 (2650kv). I was thinking of installing it in my Ofna Hyper 10SC. People have been suggesting that get a 1415 instead, but I don't see any good reason to.

Is there any benefit to the 1415?

If the diameter of the 2650 fits, I would just run it. The castle 1410 sc motor is plenty for the Hyper 10SC. The 1415 is just a bit smaller diameter than the 1512 (and a bit less kv). I ordered a 1409 for my Hyper 10SC, but have never run it as the castle 1410 works quite well.

I would stick with the 2650 cause it has a 5mm shaft. I see those 1/8 shafts a-snappin' when the going gets tough. I have snapped a few myself, not on these motors, but they always snap where the shaft is turned down to 1/8"...

I ran a 1409 motor on my mini ste, and it did very well, evne being a high kv motor on 2s lipo. Got the MM hot, but there were no cooling holes in the body.

I had the 2650 1512 in my 10SC and it is way too much power for the drivetrain.

I would go for the 1409 / 1509
Should be more than enough

Are the MMM's tuning options not enough to dial back the power?

Like others have said, I like the 5mm shaft of my 2650, 3mm seems so puny to me now, especially with the length these shafts are on these motors. I think CC made it 3mm for racing legality so I'm not knocking them for that.

For the power yes maybe, but the motor is also way too heavy ...

I ended up with a Tenshock 2220/7 6pol on 2S

Seriously? 2.5oz makes that much of a difference?

I run a 1515/2y on mine, and with 8S of 1300mah lipo's, mech brakes with servo, and a receiver pack, I'm right at 6.5lbs. Which by the way is the weight of the new Losi without motor, electronics, servo's ect...

I saw your thread. Its what got me interested in running my 10SC (its been on the shelf for months). I had considered putting a 1800kv (1.5y) in it with either 5s or 6s to kind of mimic what you did.

Ben running a 1509 1820kv Neu w/3s and it's more power than I can ever need.

4s,6s,8s SHEESH. Power hungry bunch aren't we :great:

In my slash 4x4 I run a 2650 T8 on 3s and it's loads of fun
