propeller cars
¿someone tried to make a hibrid car using a big motor and a plane propeller?
I saw vids in youtube but I dont find any post of this projects..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMW1Z...el_video_title http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_rc4...eature=related at this moment I making one: -1/8tt ofna hyper 8 pro chasis +castle neu 1717 motor +mamba monster esc +3-6s 45-90c lipos +10x10 or 12x10 plane propeller soon photos/vids  |
would work well in an on road RC... she really boogied well...

A member on here Shonen used a ducted fan on one of his trucks, thing scooted around pretty well actually. Check around, he has a thread with all his builds.

thanks ........ I found the post and one vid...........
http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthre...ght=ducted+fan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKye7...el_video_title today I finished the project .......... and the sound of the propeller is fucking awesome ....... generates more noise than a glow motor :gasp: ..... is crazy soon photos/vids |

that looks crazy....and cool! Videos! Videos!

WOW!!! That has ALOT more get up and go than other setups I have seen. Put some stubby wings on it with control surfaces and try to take off a jump :D
|
pretty cool man. i like what you got goin.
whats the max rpm at full throttle? you may be overtaking the useable rpm of the prop with a motor like that on there. as long as its below 12000 it should be alright though. |
That is freaking awesome.
I love it, makes me want to make one. |
thanks..... soon we will measure the max mph ....... and is possible we will use 9-12s :whip::whip::whip::whip:

wow, that thing has a bunch more kick than my EDF-powered projects. Buggy chassis much lighter than monster truck. :yipi:
how do you like the handling with all that weight behind its rear axle? my TT-01 handles like crap with its fan hanging behind its ass :mdr: Even if it handles badly though, there's nothing like building something unconventional and taking a break from the norm. A 1717 on 6s is 35k rpm, quite a way out of the efficiency range of a direct drive propeller (the air version is a heli motor, after all). My EDF setups have smaller blades and lower Kv motors, which is why I can crank them to 26k rpm and still have them thrust well. Oh well. As long as you're having fun. |
Try a wood prop. You'll get more thrust at higher rpm because it won't flex as much under it's own force. There will be higher A draw on the system as a result so watch temps.
