Major kudos to Traxxas!

Was browsing the web tonight and decided to visit Traxxas website for anything new and I came across this. Totally awesome of Traxxas to do something that probably looks childish to many people but deep down, represents something much much bigger, taking care of our brave soldiers, saying thank you and letting them have some fun and blow off steam. Makes me proud to own a Slash 4x4 Ultimate!

Even if you dislike Traxxas products, you have to applaud them for doing this for our troops.

ya its cool they let the troops play with some r/c's, but i have a strong feeling this was just for advertising purposes

I don't think it's just for advertising. The Armed Forces Entertainment brings varied types of people like bands, musicians, athletes, cheerleaders just to name a few to different bases around the world. For us here in Japan, I had seen many a bands perform for free for us onbase especially on special ocassion and holidays. During the superbowl, there's at least a couple of groups of cheerleaders in town visiting us.

It makes for a good PR moment but they really just wanted to thank the troops. Too bad you have reservations about their intent.

I don't think their intent was anything other than to make a bunch of people smile. That can bring more gratification than money ever will.

I dunno, I feel that if it was ONLY for the troops they wouldnt have it plastered all over their website.

If they didn't post it on their website who would know about it except for the troops?

or quite possibly they were showing what they did in an effort to bring more attention to the troops and getting more people involved.

Why shouldn't they post it on their website. It's exciting to see and that way all of us can share in it.

In marketing one has to weigh dollars spent vs realized sales of such marketing in order to come out ahead. I highly doubt that any possible sales realized from posting what they did for the troops will out weight what was actually spent doing it. If it was strictly a marketing ploy there are much better ways to spend your money and get better returns than posting up what they did for the troops.

ya i guess you guys have a point, but when you think about it EVERYTHING is done for some sort of advertisment. At least this had some good thrown in with it.
