7020 and 9L?
My cousin is looking to get into the brushless scene, since seeing mine in action :018:
Anyway..I have a spare 9L that I can give/sell him..so all he needs now is an ESC. He wants to keep the cost down for drivetrain, etc upgrades. With that in mind, would the 7020 be able to handle the amp draw of the 9L on 14 cells? Would the gearing need to be changed? On my 9918/9L combo, I run anything between a 16-18/70 and works fine (gets kinda hot, but typical of the 9L)..so just wondering if he'd have to run a different gearing from me... Thanks guys! |
It will make it go but it is a good possiblity to make it thremal. I think would be better on a 9920. The 16 70 sounds better on gearing. I think the 12 cells would make it run much cooler.

would the 10L or 7XL better suit the 7020?
|
A 10L should pull a lot less amps than a 7XL. It would be the better choice for a 7020.
|
The 7xl has a tendency to over heat the 7020 as well. You really have to use moderate gearing. I have tried it. I didn't know then what I know now. I fried the esc to.

Yikes..looks like the 9920 is the only way to go...
Anyone got one they'd like to sell..cheap?? :p |
I think Metalman has a new one that he is selling.
|
Yes..I'm in contact with him about that :)
|
Great...just bought the 9920 from MetalMan..with plans to use that and a new motor for me..while selling my current setup to my cousin...
BUT..now it looks like he's changing his mind about this brushless thing :031: Oh well..looks like I now have a 9918/9L and a bunch of pinions to sell...know any who's looking for a setup? :018: |
