How do you set up a BEC
Hey, l have just recieved my CC Pro BEC by Castle Creations, but l am not sure which wires go to which, and wat gets disconnected? could anyone help me out on this.
|
This should help: http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...ro_wiring.html

orite, but wer it says to plug it in your receiver in 6 and 7, l only have a B/C (whatever that means) and another slot left, its a futaba 3PMX receiver, this one

I'm not sure what "B/C" means specifically, but it's likely the battery port since you also have 3 channels and a data port. Even so, all the ports have their power and ground ports directly paralleled, so you could use ch3 slot if you aren't using it.

ye its being used, but it says in the diagram to put both plugs in the receiver, nd thers only two ports left
|
Both plugs are only needed if you plan on using over 5A due to the current-carrying capabilities of the servo wires and connectors. If you are just using regular servos, or just one servo, then you really only need one plug since current draw will likely be less than 5A.
There are other ways you can wire it up to use both plugs, even with all ports being used. But it involves modifying the ESC and/or steering servo wires. |
hey, would anyone know which plug (for the castle creations BEC) would go into the futaba 3PMX reciever? cause l only have two ports left and 2 cables left on the BEC, and do l have to dissconect anything (e.g red wire from esc?)
|
Look at the instructions that BrianG already posted:
http://www.castlecreations.com/image...ng_diagram.jpg You do need to remove the red wire from the esc's rx lead to disable the built-in BEC. The rx connectors from the BEC Pro should then be able to plug into the spare slots on the rx ( aux/ batt slot and the other spare one I presume ). |

then plug it in there :)

l only have B/C slot left and RS232C left, and do both plugs go in? and how would l know if it's correct
|
I have no idea what the RS232C slot is for, or the B/C slot either actually ( Bind? I dunno )- read your manual and see what it says they are for/ can be used for.
You'll know if it works because the rx & servo wont burst into flames... |

Hey, I didn't want to start a new thread so i'll ask here. I have traxxas 2.4 ghz radio and I want to run external BEC. There are 5 channels and there is one like BATT/5CH. So I can only connect BEC to the 5th channel or it doesn't matter? Because ESC internal bec is running to the 2nd. I have one spare 1th channel (its traxxas receiver, they have two 1th channels) and i want to plug the bec to it.
PS: CC says that i have to disconnect only the red wire. Can I disconnect both brown and red wires and leave only the orange signal wire? Will it still work? ( know that the CC link wont work even without the red wire) |
