My D8T with pics and vids
I figured I should make my own thread with all the questions I get and the pics and vids I have. I bought this truggy already converted but it needed some TLC and some tweaking. It had a 2200 MMM system that overheated and died shortly after running the truck a few times. I noticed a few items were pretty worn but luckily the previous owner was a good guy and gave me a good deal and a lot of extra parts.
I have since added a few upgrades and swapped out other parts to where I'm at now: Mike's D8T conversion Mike's D8 top plate Losi battery tray Tekno outdrives Tekin RX8/T8 1700kv combo 15/44 gearing when using plastic spurs 15/48 gearing for beach runs Badlands on VTR Velos with Bulldog body MX-3 2.4Ghz with 7955 Neu Energy SP 5s 46C 5000mah packs Hyperion 1420i for charging (awesome charger) Here's a most recent pic- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/c69b86ce.jpg Latest vid of the truggy at the beach jumping the dunes- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6aFImjTDjs Resulted in a little carnage when I hit a fence- http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/aebbbd83.jpg Other vids- Speed laps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-RTcsBhXj8 Fun on a baseball diamond: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vmqn6vUZU-o Blasting around on the beach: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WecL1TJaGCQ More to come! |
Once again, I really like your truck. This is what my truck will grow up to be one day.
I have yet another question. Why did you use the Losi battery tray instead of the one that comes with the RCM kit? Thanks again, Nick |
Thanks again! Actually the guy that owned it previously put that in. I'm not sure why but it seems to work very well.

I'm taking this truck camping with me while I go wheeling and will hopefully get some pics and vids of it doing some small fun sessions with tricks and jumps since I'm back in WA. I still haven't decided if I actually want to sell the truck or make it a 1/5 project or keep it as my bash/fun truggy since it's so tough.
Anyone have opinions or suggestions? I still want an Axial Wraith but might just wait til I can afford to keep this and buy one. |
