Not enough mAh....help!!

Me and sylvester have have just recived new batteries and have problems with charging them to full capacity. For instance my batteries are gp3300's and only charge to around 2500-2600 mAh charger settings are at:
NiMH,3300,3 amps or auto, and the peak is 8mv/c.

Sylvesters are ib 4200's. We both have the same charger. His settings are:
NIMH, 4200, 3 amps or auto, and the peak is 8mv/c.
After each charge both our mAh would decrease.
and his would reach: 1st charge: 3300MaH 2nd charge 1900mAh 3rd charge 1100 mAh

our chargers are: Duratrax Piranha AC/DC digital peak charger, normal NiCD and NiMH.

you can look at the charger here:

what seems to be the problem?? our run times are decreasing my the charge!
HELP

we have read the manual to this charger but still doesn't really tell us what to do to always charge to full capcity, or atleast almost full.

We think it have to do with the amount of #mv/c. It ranges to 3mv/c to 20mv/c.

set the MV/C to 3. It should make the battery as close to full charge as possible. I have one of these chargers.

I have that same charger..with 8 MV/C, and have no problems charging my IB3800 and GP3700. My IBs go around 4400mah..and my GP around 3900.

Your charger could be false charging...

Are the cells warm when the charger says it is done. Are the batteries getting fully discharged to?

Sylvester 04.29.2006 05:23 PM

After the charge they are warm. they are getting dishcharged (by driving truck ;) ) Do they have to be FULLY dishcharged?

squeeforever 04.29.2006 09:38 PM

nope. but keep in mind if there not its not gonna say the over all mah but only what it charged. at least thats what my novak does.

Sylvester 04.29.2006 09:51 PM

I think i solved it, i wasnt running them down, they "seemed" to be dieing, but i let it cool, and i drove it, it was like they were still full! Than i let it cool again, and it drove even better! I think my truck may be glitching because of my 10L getting HOT. Im gonna get a 10xl, on 16 cells what should i gear it at? (with a 51T spur)

Zcrusher 04.29.2006 09:57 PM

It randomly regains power? What kind of temps are you running?!

Sylvester 04.29.2006 09:58 PM

Dont know, but they are TOO hot for the hand, the heatsink is exactly the same! Gonna need that XL soon.

squeeforever 04.29.2006 11:22 PM

a 18 or 20. i run the same setup. well exept on 14 cells although i have 2 more to add to them.

Mike.L 04.29.2006 11:45 PM

mine also get hot after i charge my batteries. i can hold it but soo gets too hot for the hand to hold. i also dischrge my batteries like sylvester.

but my titans dont run hot and i can Keep my hand on it for a while. neither my evx.
but still my batts charge up to around 25-2600.amps. what seems to be my problem.?

Sylvester 04.30.2006 12:12 PM

Mike, your batteries will not go over, it is either because they went under 0.9V each cell or they are worn.

crazyjr 04.30.2006 08:51 PM

I set mine to 12mv/c. My batts are powerizer 3300's and they run from 3600 to 3800 charge and are good and warm after a charge
