Im looking at buying a muggy roller. I really want one and this one is a really good deal. For $90 more hell throw in a neu 1518 1250 kv, but i already have a neu 1515 1650 kv and i dont know if the 1515 can handle it since it got a good workout in my emaxx, which im trying to sell to buy this muggy. Should i buy the 1518 with it and sell the 1515 or do you guys think the 1515 can handle it? And will a MMP put out enough for the 1518 in that big of a truck? Thanks!

Is the motor in good condition? The 1518 would be a better choice for the Muggy platform. You will want to use a MMM or MMMXL ESC with the 1518 in a big truck like that.

1515 - good (will work fine - I ran one for a year in my Muggy)
1518 - better (I'm running one now in my Muggy)
MMP - no good for either motor in the Muggy - you really need a MMM

+1 ......... if the motor is in good condition is better the 1518 than the 1515 for a muggy/truggy ......... also the 1515 is a good option, but the other is bigger and have more power

The 1518 has like 5 runs on it and the 1515 is older but still runs great. So it looks like I have to sell my MMP :grrrrrr:

Im thinking about this esc, since MMMs are so expensive:grrrrrr: They actually do get them in stock on occasion, but a week later theyre all gone!

you get what you pay for, just keep that in mind, i would look for a used mmm if you cant aford a new one

this es is GARBAGE ..... I saw many burneds and I dont recommend you ........ mamba monster, xerun 150, ezrun 150, leopard 150a ..... you have many other good options ;)

I've seen the Xerun 150a's and they are almost as expensive as a MMM. I hardly ever see a ezrun 150a, and have never seen a leopard 150a.

go for the "old" ezrun 150a, now available as V2 for a good price. I have burned two hk150a, dunno if it's bad luck or not, or the damaged Leopard Motor. Before that, I had already a HK150a as a spare esc, and was quite happy with it. I think, it also stayed cooler then the newer models.

I got a used ezrun 150a esc, and very happy with it. good esc.

anyways, you could go for a ezrun 150a V2, they are a little cheaper then the xeruns.

What do you guys think of the muggy? It has sway bars on it and would come with some savage wheels but no 17 mm hexes but i have some. Are there any problems with it? Should i buy stiffer springs?

Do it right and do it once! If it means saving up for an extra week or two or three save your money and buy things once, it pays off within 6 months. Buy a cheap esc and you'll be buying another very soon, buy a mmm or similar and it has a warranty so if it does go up in smoke it's covered. Don't skimp out and buy 20C lipos, you can get 30C+ lipos cheap. If your going to buy from HK then buy your lipos there and get some decent ones. Also keep in mind that that 1518 is better suited to 6-8s lipo. That esc you linked to only does 4s. IMHO minimum requirement would be a MMM and a 6s 5000mah 30C

it depends more on the kv / rpm you choose. I think with something around 1400kv or lower, on 6s you should be fine. a proper gearing is also important, geared to the moon you would kill any esc. xerun/ezrun are solid ESC's.

you could also go for a leopard 4082.

probably you should get some 25c lipos. Nevertheless, those C-Ratings are often marketing. Personally, I don't see any difference between my 30c- and 20c Tunrnigy lipos. they both get warm, they both have some voltage drift, they both are good batteries.

when they are testing lipos, in some cases it shows that the actual c-rating is lower then the rating on the pack. even with brand lipos...
