What would this do ? (besides voiding the warranty)

I have been running an old MM that I have soldered a receiver plug to the (+) and (-) coming from the battery (at the circuit board), so I can run my receiver at full lipo voltage. The old MM's heatsink popped off last time at the track and I would like to replace it with a MMP.

I plan to remove the red wire from the MMP receiver plug that goes to the bec and solder directly to the (+) battery connection on the circuit board, thus bypassing the bec. This will also reduce the wiring, as I now have 2 plugs from the MM to the receiver.

The questions are:

I know the warranty will be void, but I would like to know if this would work the same? Will it matter that the (-) is still at the bec connection? (should be common). And for programming, I should be able to hook to computer as long as I have red wire in plug unhooked and battery plugged in? Same for programming with field link as well, but adding a power source for field link? Or will field link handle the voltage of full lipo if leaving red wire attached?

Oh, and you could call this the MMP 2 cell addition (lol).

Why not just hook up to computer with Castle Link and turn up the bec voltage. On the MMP the bec is adjustable.

Yeah but then I still need a capacitor on the receiver (high current draw servo) which doesn't always work... and you can't get 7.4+ volts either. Also there is voltage drop as well when the pack gets low (you won't get 7v out when your pack is at 7v). Some have to resort to a bec with the MMP because it won't power a high draw servo and transponder etc.
