OMG this never happen to me before! What happen?

Few months ago I've sent the 2650KV motor for non warranty repair.
The motor blew up by a faulty MMM ESC.

Today I had the opportunity to install the new 2650KV motor instead of bashing with Tekin motor.
10 minutes later.....still bashing......my buggy flew into the sky:eyes::gasp:
Make a hard landing and make some flips flaps.

My buggy is dead: bended shoscks, broken suspension arms.
Also my Hyperion 4S 45C 4200mAh didn't survive (a dent in one of the cell).

What was causing this big crash?
Hmmmmm....after checking...the new 2650KV was the bad guy.
The motor axle wouldn't move it's really stuck!
That's reason why the buggy suddenly flew into the sky:lol:

Can anyone explain why the motor suddenly blocked?

I will send it back for warranty repair:na:

So let get this straight...your buggy took off hard on a jump and crashed? Then you blame the motor for the jump and crash? I'm not sure I understand the logic there.

Also, if it's a locked rotor, that could have happened from the crash itself. It certainly won't make a vehicle take off suddenly.

BMW318TI 08.24.2011 04:15 PM

Nope it really suddenly take off without any reason.
The surface is flat, so no jumping possible:-).
Buggy was at top speed:-).

Yes I know my English is not very good ( I live in Europe):P.

That must have been something to see! Cruising along at top speed, and then your drivetrain completely locks throws the car up and forward! haha. sorry for your loss though :( too bad it's not on video.

BMW318TI 08.24.2011 05:25 PM

Yup I agree it was really nice to see the crash hahaha.
I've just tested my car gear train, luckely everything is fine:lol:

Anyone knows how I can remove the rear endbell?

Pdelcast 08.24.2011 06:01 PM

Remove the front end-bell, and see if the rotor may have failed.

Rotor failure is very rare with this motor, but is possible.

Thanx!

Patrick

I've just remove the front end-bell.
How can I see the rotor is broken?
I can't turn the rotor at all:P.
It wouldn't even move back or forward.
But I see some fiber sticking out?

Sounds like a rotor failure. Bad bad bad.

Need to get you a replacement rotor.

Can you contact our tech support guys?

OMG! This is the funniest description I have ever seen!

I experienced this one time with an E maxx when the motor seized.

The truck was flying along, about 40mph, on flat asphalt and in the next moment, I was asking myself, "What the heck just happened?"

It "just flew into the sky" too! I didn't think it was ever going to stop flipping!

That's what I call extreme motor braking!

It's especially funny that I'm seeing this now.

The other day I was thinking how I could make a truck that does front flips on command (since with BL you can do back flips on command). The idea I came up with was to have a flywheel in the front-ish center of the truck spinning really fast and then use a clutch to couple that rotational force directly to the chassis.

That's effectively what happened here except the motor and driveline acted as the flywheel, and the blown rotor was the clutch.

BMW318TI 08.26.2011 06:53 AM

Aaha thanks for your explanation!:rules:

I've just send CC an email abouit my problem.
See what happen:yipi:

BMW318TI 09.03.2011 05:11 AM

Hmm no repsonse after one week, so I've just send the motor to CC:-).
