Just want to say...
I like this forums the best, lol.
I started out over on RCU, not a bad place, gets quite a few people there, for the most part helpful, and it helped me out when I first started. But it seems to have gone down hill, or maybe I'm just getting sick of seeing the exact same stuff over and over again. I don't mind the noobs asking the same questions, I can just look up old threads, direct them there, and they can ask for anything that isn't covered in that thread. What really grinds my gears are some of the regulars there....arguing over the same things in EVERY thread, and some of the arrogance around there, ugh! This place is much better, more level headed, much more fun, and has some great projects going on! Long Live RCM! |
Agree
I just have to agree. I have been on several sites over the last 5-6 years checking things out, and have found similar issues on some of the other sites. I pretty much gave up on all of the R/C forums except for RCM and UE. For me it seems that most of the conversations are of a mature level and rarely get out of control. I myself have been involved in a few disputes in here, but when a little calm settling is induced things come back to Earth and we all move on without any held anger or animosity. The amazing thing that kept me coming back to RCM for more was that there was a lot of home made and custom designing going on here that worked and looked fantastic. There are some pretty dammed smart people around here that can lend sound reasonable advice and information for just about any situation R/C or otherwise. Some of us communicate in here like we are close friends and have never met most if not all of them. I enjoy engaging in conversation with quite a few of the guys in here, and especially enjoy some of the humor released by guys like Parylized, Lincpimp, and a few others. It hurts to see some of the regulars move on to other things and leave this site behind after engaging with them for a few years. Its like losing a good friend, and that sucks. I for one hope MonsterMike keeps this site going for a long time as I plan to be into R/C for the rest of my life in one way or another.

I to love this site, If i need something advice wise, it's given without attitude. I also love that Castle Creations, Novak and Tekin chime in and offer support on the forum so everyone can see they are here for both the people and to create dialogue for possible additions and improvements

this forum may not be very active, but i attribute that to the lack of noobs posting the same simple questions ever and over again. that is what makes up about half of some of the other forums and the majority of the rest of the "traffic" stems from intermediate questions and nitro issues. brushless setups have less to worry about and less that can go wrong, granted your setup is appropriate. there's also very few noobies here and for some reason, they seem to do things better on their own and don't need to make a new thread asking what pinion to use on their e-revo.
