Nice truck!
Me and a friend are thinking about to start with rc-cars again and this one is quite interesting.

Are you happy with it?
Does it hold up for some abuse?
Anything that breaks more often so I should have parts in reserve?

samintrepid 09.25.2011 05:43 PM

It my best truck ever, better than the savage flux, e-revo brushless and e-maxx. Easy to drive at 60mph and easy control in the air. The servo that come with rtr are not good only 140oz, the savox servo have 270oz and it hard to turn the wheel, It think 300oz + are better for this big wheel. I have this truck for 6 month now and never broken part and the tire are the same and i bash this truck on 6S on asphalt, gravel etc...

I have adjust the servo saver and now the steering work perfectly with the Savox 1256TG !

My MT-4 G3 is on order. Can't wait till I get my hands on it. If it handles half as good as it looks like it does on Youtube it will put down my Savage Flux to shame. I have been playing with an idea of fitting a CD in my Savage but if the MT-4 G3 proves it self to be a tough truck I might just put the Savage Fluxes on the shelf and leave them there.

How is the damage report? Have you broken anything yet? What about the center diff fluid? It seems like there is a lot of unloading at the front so I was thinking that 7K fluid would be a bit thin. What are your thoughts?

samintrepid 11.01.2011 11:11 AM

Very durable truck if you follow the manual for maintains, Thunder Tiger recommand 5K front, 8K center, 3K rear. During the summer, on 4S lipo, i have tested 50K in center, too much traction at the rear and scrap the spyder gear. For the rear i have put 10K and the max is 3K, scrap the spider gear too because the wheel are very big. After that i follow the manual and put 5K front, 7K center and 2K rear because my LHS don't have 8K and 3K in stock. From mid summer to now i run 6S lipo without breaking and the tire wear slowly !

What do you mean by scrap the spider gear? Did you strip them?

Metal chip in the silicone oil (contaminate) and the spider gear cut like a razor blade

Heres a few pictures of mine. Also my best truck I have had yet. I have beat the snot out of it and it has held up very well. The only real thing I have broken is the toe in block at the front of the rear bulkhead. I replaced it with the optional aluminum block....also replaced all the others for the heck of it.

Samintrepid, do you ONLY run 6s? Do you do much bashing/jumping or mostly speed runs? I'm surprised MY diff gears have held up with the abuse it has taken, but I only run 4s ...although I bumped up the gearing a bit with a metal 48 tooth spur gear.

I left the front and rear diff fluid alone so far but I put 100,000 weight Mugen silicone diff fluid in the center.

I bolted on this rear summit bumper(upside down) to keep my front lower arms from getting destroyed....I live in a very rocky area. And it also saves the little plastic caps that hold in the loeer hinge pins, I broke both of them and replaced with optional aluminum.

Hello Chainsaw10, if you check my other video on youtube you can see the truck running on 4S turnigy 4500 30C. The truck take a jump on 4S and 6S without problem but most of time i run in front of my house on asphalt, grass and gravel.

I think you will break you center spider gear in the near future because i have chipped mine on 4S with 50, 000 weight (more wheelie but more stress on spider). Thunder tiger recommend 8000 weight in the center.
