Traxxas Lipo - Eagle tree graph
I did it, I bought a set of traxxas lipos. My LHS gave me a decent deal on them, still expensive though. I bought a pair of 2s 10,000mah lipos for running in my Spartan boat. I'm not sure of the msrp on these but they where marked for $129.99 each, I was able to get them for $99.99 each. At this price they are similarly priced to NeuEnergy packs. Still a bit more than Turnigy but Traxxas has a good warranty on these packs.
Here is a graph from the first run on these packs. Wide open until the lvc, there are a couple brief dips, for some reason I seem to lose signal on occasion in a couple spots on this small lake, not all the time but it's the same couple spots everytime it happens. The packs seemed to do well. Are they an honest 25C? I guess it all depends on how you rate them but I can say that at contant 60Amp load they they held above 3.4V/cell right up till the last 500mah of capacity, and they gave up full advertised capacity. Same graphs just one shows cumulative mah and one shows time. About 9-9.5 minutes of all out running. http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/i...n10AhTrx4s.jpg http://i548.photobucket.com/albums/i...n10Ahtrx-a.jpg Overall I'm pretty happy, we shall see how well they hold up over time and how well Traxxas stands behind their warranty. |
I was waiting for somebody to post a graph. Packs look to be good. See if they improve after 8 cycles or so and report again.

Will do, depending on the weather I should have another graph next week. I've run this boat almost every day for the last 2 weeks. I refuse to stand in the rain to run it though!

that would be a decent graph except for the fact that they are 10,000 mah

I'm with rootar on this one. They are ok. So basically its 2 5000mah 2S in parallel. So each 2S 5000mah held 30amps for the life of the pack. Thats still less than 10C. Its probably good that its a 10,000mah pack because if they sold those as 5000mah packs you might see a descent volt drop. As a 10k pack though it seems to give descent performance, so I say run them. I just wish we could get true 15C packs instead of all the hype. I wonder where they are getting their cells from.

I understand these are 10Ah and that allows them to discharge at a much higher rate. Honestly as long as a pack holds voltage under the load I'm putting on them I don't care what they are rated. I don't know of any other way that you could put a higher continous load on a pack than a boat and they took every bit of it and held there voltage. To hold over 3.4V under load right till the last bit of the pack seems pretty good to me. I'll try doing a simillar run with my Turnigy packs and see how they hold voltage.
