Fixing a Fooseball Person's Foot!

After an intense game with some buddies, I broke the foot of one the fooseball men clean off...

Anyways, super glue failed me the first time (Some HK CA, actually) after a good twenty solid hits, it snapped off again.

Dad told me I should try integrating a screw into there, but let me to figure it out.. :oops:

Soo, here's what I got from that.

On one of the pieces, drill a decent hole (enough for a good bite, long enough that the screw won't fly out), forcefully screw a M4 size [Or.. I could figure out how to use a tap/die set... But that sounds like work!] so that there's threads forming (does this actually happen, or am I just thinking optimistically?). Do the same for the other piece, but with a different screw, but don't cut off the cap, once threads are formed, pull out [haha], and screw it onto the original piece I did it to...

Uhm, here's a picture for those that didn't follow..

Green being the screw.

From left to right, two screws are inserted into two different pieces, one gets pulled out, piece gets screwed onto original one, works.. Hopefully.


Anyone got any tips before I go kill a fooseball person tomorrow?
Or any better ideas... ?

Use a rustler hinge pin :)

Super glue bits together
Drill hole up leg
Glue and press fit in pin
Cut-off rest of pin

Pretty sure that rustler hinge pin would be a tad bit long.. And where are the threads? :whistle:

The bottom is similar to a blade... I can't drill directly down :neutral:

drywall screws and 2 part epoxy.
drill a hole slightly smaller than the o.d. of the screw so it bites as it goes in. screw into body first, after putting 2 part epoxy in the hole.
dremel the head off the screw and sharpen a point, cut to length at same time
put 2 part epoxy into hole drilled in foot
hold body and screw foot on, before the gap is completely closed add 2 part epoxy to opposing faces
finish screwing on foot

I would also use some 2 part epoxy or gorilla glue. CA seems to be too brittle for a part that will have repeated sharp impacts. But your idea is good. The brace doesn't need to be threaded, any kind of support joining the 2 pieces will help a ton (like a hinge pin).
If you use gorilla glue remember that it expands ALOT. I little really goes a long way. Good Luck!

I wouldn't try forcing a big screw in a small hole, it could split your Fooseball man.

Or you could just find one on eBay, it looks like there are alot of them on there.

I ended up using the main idea, got a drywall screw, trimmed it to size, drilled a hole SLIGHTLY smaller than the diameter of the drywall screw (and not the thread), screwed it in, cut off the cap, and did the same for the foot.

Worked well, just slightly crooked, but works fine!

The piece isn't a normal piece, it has the theme of "Gangsters vs. Robbers", and the Gangster piece is a little hard to find, but hey, now I don't need to shop!

Seriously, took like 15 minutes, 5 of which I was trying to find a good DeWalt battery to use (by the way, all of ours are dead now..), and couldn't so I relied on a cheap WallyWorld drill...
