Pic of 1409 Aveox. Check the rotor out.

I scored me a 1409 sensored Aveox the other day. It came with ESC and some other antique stuff. I believe is a 5T Delta wind. I heard that some of the Aveox motors came with a capped rotor, so I took a chance and bought one. Opened the sucker up and found the capped rotor. Rotor is 19mm diameter x 34.38mm. Should be a nice 6s motor.

Hey Romano,

Can you explain to some of us newbies what a capped rotor is? And why is it beneficial?

Thanks for sharing,
Nick

It was Aveox way of fixing their rotor issue. But that is just a guess. The old school people would know more about this, as my first brushless setup was a Mamba Max system. I also posted pics of the dovetail looking rotor of the 1406 motor. I'm guessing Neumotors would know more about Aveox rotors.

Kept the magnet from exploding into pieces. I have old Aveox just like that one as well as newer motors that had Kevlar wrapped rotors. A couple of the expensive motors used a very high quality and thin stator material and if you guys have a chance to buy one, go ahead.

Edit: Not 100% sure, but I think the new Lehner rotors have that aluminum cap as well.
