Motor options for Losi XXL conversion
 

I got my hands on a Losi XXL and I am going through the motor options. It is getting put on an immediate carbon fiber diet but I need a good option to push it. Let me know. Thanks.

Do you know of anyone holding on to one (1717...the older one) that might let it go. Ebay is plumb out of them.

1717 or the 1520

I ran a Neu 1521/1Y on 6s in my XXL conversion and it was great. The 1520 should be on the same level.

I was thinking of doing an XXL conversion soon as well. I'm thinking of using a XL2 esc and 1520 or 1717 on 6s.

What are the differences in he Air versus the surface? Might be interested.

Air version has holes on the ends and a flat spot shaved on one side of the fins.

I think 6mm shaft air car 5mm ?

I am running a 1520 on my Aftershock/LST, and it runs very well, smooth and cold on 4s with 25/63 gearing. I have also had a 2200 in it, which also worked fine, but got a bit warmer.

OMG!!! The 1717 is huge.
 

I picked up a newer Castle 1717 1650 kv motor and it is a monster. I cannot wait until this thing is up and running.
