Well, loose in the case. The circuit board rattles around quite a bit in the case. This is brand new spare I got as non-warranty replacement several months ago. Any good ideas to stop the rattling around? Thanks in advance.

What about some of that thin craft foam? You can get 1/8" thick 8.5"x11" sheets at Wal-Mart or any craft store for about $1 each. Just try to cut the foam so any heat-producing component (like BEC FET/coil) is exposed and has some room to "breathe".

Should you have to do this on a $130 esc? Especially one that as you say is brand new.

Be like buying a Toyota and all the wheel nuts and screws being loose!

Great ideas, I have some of that foam around somewhere... and I thought about shoo-goo, but was not sure if that was a good idea (why I am asking).

It was only a $70 ESC, LOL... replacement for a scorched one. Still, it should not be required on a new ESC as you say baja.

You are right, you shouldn't, but there is nothing stopping anyone from using a different product. Then again, if you are paying $130 for a Toyota and the only thing wrong with it is the wheel nuts and some screws, you really can't complain... but I'm sure you'd manage.

I see that as a $200 ESC, $130 to buy it then $70 to get it going again.

I would favour foam rather than shoe goo as it makes service easier should it need it again in the future.

If I was to glue it I would go the hole hog and waterproof it with electronic safe silicone sealant, I would only consider that if it is out of warranty though, and I have no idea if castle give a new warranty with replacement ESCs or if the warranty continues from when you bought the original, which in your case I'm guessing has expired hence you having to pay for your replacement.

I like the waterproof idea, could have used that at the track last weekend... or a boat, :lol:
