OFNA Jammin X1 CRT Diff gears

I've got a Jammin X1 CRT brushless setup, and I would like to upgrade from the aluminum diff. gears to some steel ones. Would the steel gears from an OFNA 9.5 buggy work in my diffs as an upgrade?

The part numbers off the 9.5 are 40004 for the stock steel gears, and 49001 for the upgraded heavy duty steel gears.

Here are a couple of links:

Thanks

The part #'s don't match between the X1 diff cups and the 9.5 cups.

I have tried to use the internals from a 9.5 in a Jammin X1 CRT before, while they will physically install in the diff cup, the clearances are all wrong, far too tight even with all of the spider gear shims removed.

Just won't fit.

I usually dont' have a problem, but recently I've blown two sets of spider gears. This is the ONLY two times i've blown a diff, and both times it was on either 3S or 4S power, never destroyed a set while running 6S. I believe that my issue was that I was rebuilding the diff using the minimum amount of new parts possible.

I actually just placed an order for all new parts with the exception of the crown gear and Diff outdrives (replaced the outdrives earlier this year)

I use steel gears from HotBodies (Lightning, D8, etc) in my Jammin diffs. They fit perfectly.
