Kyosho Sct

I picked up this roller and a hpi e-savige for only $250 and the body had been painted with regular red spray paint so I took to it, bending and scratching it up with a coarse wire wool and hit it with a few backing colors. It's not much and it'll be interesting seeing how long it lasts but my kids love it.
I talked my mate who I sold the Merv, to give me back the gladiator wheels, the mamba max pro along with the 5700kv 1406 motor. He still owe's me some money for merv and I've given him the E-savage so he was quite happy to be putting the stock electronic's back in merv to help stop him from breaking parts.

Castle Creations Mamba Max Pro Esc - Waterproof
" " 1406 5700kv motor
Spectrum SR300 -Waterproof
The servo upfront is stock and will stay there until it die's, when I have to take it out I'll waterproof that too.
I plan on running 2s2p 4400mah nano's for the boy's and 3s 2650mah nano's for me.

My question to all out there that have experience with this sct is,
If Kyosho parts seem to be more expensive than other brands, does this mean they are strong and it's not necessary to hop it up???
I've been on a web site creating a shopping list that's come to some total for this model, is it worth up grading parts like knuckles, steering, lunsford rods ect???

Change of plan, I've driven it now and realise that 2s2p will be more than fine, wow, I love it.

I would imagine the 5700 is plenty fast on 2s. If you want to go bigger the 3800 is just a monster in the 2wd SCT trucks.

Honesty, I really like how the body came out too!! Nice combo with those Gladiators!!

I also like the paint....very different. In general, Kyosho parts are more expensive...just the way it is. However, most of their rides are very well made and need minor if any hop-ups. It really boils down to personal preference. I personally always upgrade to the largest shock I can fit on my ride figuring that the bigger bore will take a lot more abuse and last longer...so far since I started doing this...not one shock failure. I also like titanium turnbuckles...lighter and stronger. Others prefer stock, etc...

I had a chance to go driving between showers and I love it, I need to turn up the punch control but it's my new favorite toy, the area I spread dirt last week is going to make an awesome track for these things. Big action, no damage, no upgrades needed yet.
