Xo-1 sct???
I got sick of the road, nothing an angle grinder and a few mods didn't fix, please enjoy, we did.
I've now fitted a set of losi XXT truggy wheels and this things going to be perfect for what I want, heaps more clearance so jump shouldn't be an issue. |
That thing is nuts!! I like it!! are those buggy wheels and tires?
|
Love the vid man.

I have fitted a set of losi XXT truggy wheels and the 5.5" wheels give plenty of clearance and allowed me to use the softer white/blue springs to soften the ride. My wife told me we are heading to my favorite bmx track in a few days so I'll be sure to get footage of this thing clearing the doubles, lol, I'm excited!!!

here's a few pic's with the set up from the video, I broke one a-arm, smashed one rim and peeled the rubber from another , hense the need for truggy wheels, stronger taller and wider.
new pic's coming with the night drifter body and truggy wheels when I get home in a few days. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT1.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT2.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT7.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT9.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT5.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1/XO-1SCT4.jpg |
I'm slowly making ground on the xo-1 sct. Thanks to pagsypoop I now have a body that after a little time with a dremel will fit nice. I'm going to extend the front shock tower the same as the rear to raise it a little more for the smaller badlands, I'll need to spend some time adjusting turnbuckles and what not but I think it'll be a winner on the footy ovals, jumping could be a tad scary, lol.

I'll update with some details of the mods if you want me too otherwise I've got a couple of pic's. I took it for a run this afternoon and think I've decided I'll take the 1527 out and stick a 1515 2200kv and run 4s. I think it'll lighten it up more and the 1527 is simply too much for this truck, crazy speeds across the oval at 1/2-3/4 throttle geared 46t/25t on 6s, the truggy wheels make a huge difference and atm, seem to hold up to speeds of I'm guessing in the 60-75mph range. It needs more tweeking to improve the cornering but it sure goes streight. For giggles while travelling close to 3/4 pin....., punch it and ride the wheelie, sweet!!!

I think you are onto to something with the final layout /design

Very experimentation with this vehicle is inspiring!! Love the transformations it has taken!

I'm going to pull the 1527 tonight, it's just too much motor for this project and might be fun in the xxl. I'll fit a leo 4082 2200kv motor in it's place as I feel it'll have enough punch to get me to a top end speed that I want and not still have enough in it too almost backflip with a further squirt of the throttle. Here's a few pic's along side a slash 4x4 for a size comparison

You're an r/c maniac:yes: I love it!:yipi:
|
no, a maniac would have stopped talking about sticking a couple of 2028's under my mates arse in his chair, one on each wheel with zero turn style control and letting him pull the trigger, a bolt on, bolt off app that fit's most chairs.........................and done it by now! wait till he let's me near his trike, lol.

I remembered a set of sling shot's on geode rims that have a heap of offset, they fit well and have given this truck another fun purpose, it's just a shame I live 3 hours away from the beach.

I know, more pic's and no video but I wanted to add these as I think they are the most important. The 1527 was wicked and I mean that in every way, it was hard to drive with all the power, my finger soon become a punch control aid that only ever got squeezed 1/2 way and each time I'd get an itching finger and it'd be doing backflips at 65-75mph, it gets old quickly. The cc1515 2200kv set up honestly rocks. The lighter set up on 4s is more than enough running a 52t spur and a 17t pinion to get it up well over 100kph in a short distance but will still flip at around 70mph when doing an extended wot run, wow, it's great to be able to pin the throttle for few seconds. The 1515 still has enough torque to pull wheelies when ever I want but now they are much more controlable, it's now a VERY fun truck to drive, stopping/braking is awesome from full tilt to dead stop, nice and smooth. It handles like the slash 4x4 now, just with more grunt and a bigger, higher look and jumping is definatly on the cards after a quick spring change to lighten them up a tad, until the 5ives finished, this has become a new favorite now it's powered correctly, what a difference.
I knew I should have a cross strap over the battery but I kept pushing things until I crashed/flipped after a long wot run (awesome) and the battery pushed out the rear of the body hard enough to break the rear 1/4 pannel off the shell, that sux. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...1515layout.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...O-1/cc1515.jpg http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...O-1/damage.jpg |
