You can store them for a year as long as they are stored at proper storage charge/voltage.

Would also be a recommend to cycle it once every month or so ??

Don't have to cycle them, but it is a good idea to check on them every so often to make sure they are holdiog an acceptable voltage.

Bring it to storage voltage and stick it in the fridge. Cooling them helps storage, but not discharge or charging. Make sure to let it warm up thoroughly before you need to use it.
Don't do this if your fridge is old and humid though.

I googled and sounds like they put something in them to last longer on the shelf? and low c charging helps burn it off or some thing like that.

Good quality cells will last a very long time. My Polyquest packs are over five years old and still run like a champ. My other cheaper cells started piffing up after a year or two.

I do check the cells whenever I can remember. And I try to cycle one a year and record the voltage, discharge and charge amount.
