1/8 Tire question for those who race

Ok...finally finished my ten T conversion and may want to try my hand at racing again this fall after a 20+yr absence. ( should be interesting ) Now, my truck has the 17mm adapters on it so what I need is info on tires/inserts for different surfaces from grass to packed clay to loam. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:mdr:

Are you going to be running the Ten T in the 1/8 buggy class? Or is there a 1/10 Truggy class?

+1 ^^

Theres no organized class for thr 1/10scale truggy unless your running with buddies for funzies ?

I would check with the guys whom run on the track what works for them since they are fimilar to it's ever changing surfaces.

Well...I was going to try the 1/8 class for kicks seeing as I don't own a true 1/8 buggy anymore. At the track where I am thinking of...they do have a 1/10 unlimited class. Meaning they group SCT and trucks like ten t together.

So, I know that bowties are a good basic starting point for many surfaces...but what about inserts. The compounds have come along way as have the inserts. I know that the track is a clay base that drys out in the summer as gets like concrete.

Caliber in M3 with med foams IMO, should be a good all around tire.

You could just put a 1/8scale buggy body on your truck and viola', buggy.

possibly....there is a smaller track closer to me...can't remember name off the top of my head. The bigger track is 2 hrs away which is a stretch, but doable. Due to the distance I will need to travel, it is going to take a commitment to do this so still not 100% sure I can commit the time needed, but still would like to if possible

AKA GridIrons and City Blocks is the local choice out here on red clay. Most run the foams that come with the tires.
