Sidewinder SCT question
I got a new Sidewinder SCT the other day as a replacement. It now has a fan built into the case and has a second receiver wire coming out with only ground and power. Is this an additional plug to supplement the BEC? See pic.

You know that new fan that's on the esc? That extra wire be the power wire for the fan:yes:

Guess I should have opened it up to find out... Not sure I like this feature.

My sidewinder is going on a snowmobile, I may just pull the case and fan off:neutral: |

Anything else meant designing a new pcb with battery terminals which is v expensive.
Let's face it we did the same for years to mm's. |

It's a 6 volt fan, I doubt 7.4v would kill it. If you stayed at 2s you could just wire to the power leads. I'd just plug it into the receiver though. No sense over volting fans if you don't have to. Plug it into the 3rd channel or battery slot. |

I only mentioned splicing to have one less wire, cause I like clean builds. |

Yeah, I myself prefer the wires hanging out all over the place and I just twist wires together and use electrical tape. See my builds to confirm |

Yep. Less wiring is always nice. Which is why I may just solder onto the battery leads.
