battery trouble

Ok all, have a 1 cycled GensAce 25C 4s 5300 lipo....one cell appears to be dead after one charge...:diablo: I am using a hyperion charger 615i duo 3. How can I try to recover that one cell? IT's not the balance board as I am charging a 5s as we speak. Tried changing boards with the same results.

Have you tested the individual cell voltages with a volt meter?

You could always try to charge as NiMh and see if the cell moves up.

I have....3 of the cells were 5.1v/c and the other was .94 v/c

If i charge as a NIMH what amps?

I assume this is a newly purchased pack ?
Call Hobbypartz because they will replace it !

I would do as Bondo suggests. I haven't dealt with them yet to comment but if they'll replace it, kudos to you and them.

3 cells at 5.1v? that's really high and I wouldn't use it at all. I'm going to assume you meant 4.1 though.
You can make a jumper to charge the individual cell through the balance tap. But I would say a cell that low is trash. I've saved them from like 2.5V, much lower than that I'd be worried.

Brian, If the pack is new don't even mess with it. Call HPz and they'll give you a RO# to send the lipo back with, if the packs are in stock turn around is only a couple days.

If one cell is dead and another is 5.1 my guess is there's a jump between 2 cells somehow ?

Can't be 5.1, the charger wouldn't allow it, and it would have blowed up.
