Question for you Losi 5T owners
Looking at taking the plunge next month after my personal life smooths out. Questions...
1. What has been good /bad overall as far as wear & tear on the truck 2. The RCM conversion kit is sweet no doubt...how is it on 8S 3. Anyone try the Fastlane hop-ups? - F/R/C diff mounts, which look trick BTW - chassis braces - shock parts Any other info would be great! |
Wow...a lot of looks but no comments
|
i'd guess a lot of people who don't own a 5T looked at the thread, such as myself. ;)

Front center cvd's break, but there is no aftermarket alternative.
Millzee and auto2 both have the rcm kit and say 8s is plenty. They are solid trucks. I don't own one but have been following the Losi5forum closely since the truck came out. The biggest complaint is steering servos. There are a couple dual servo kits available, otherwise people are using the savox fifth scale servo. It's solid stock, but of course FLM goodies are always a good choice. Git 'r dun.:whip: |

I have seen both of those vids....impressive for sure.
I don't like the RC Madness kit as far as weight distribution. Batteries and motor on the same side seems a bit overloaded IMO. The MGM controller is impressive...as is the pricetag |
The rc-madness kit uses the same lame oval washers as the gasser for gear mesh. Rc-Monster all the way!

oh I agree, the 2 huge batteries on one side just wouldn't sit right with me either. I like symmetry for sure. I would want one battery one either side.
|
Our kit is very well balanced when using a pair of 4s packs. The Castle motor and ESC, along with the radio box, steering servo, etc. add up to a decent amount of weight on the right side of the car(diff is also offset to the right).
The Madness kit locates the motor on the same side as the batteries, which doesn't seem like it would balance well at all. The car itself is rather large and heavy so unless the weight balance is grossly off, most people won't notice it. Keeping the weight forward is helpful to get the car to turn - the size and mass of the beast makes it want to push otherwise. |

Anyone know approximate speed w/2 4s pack and the castle setup? Someone asked me and I couldn't give them an answer...so, I figured someone would chime in. |
About 50mph with a 19t pinion.

I have a losi 5ive........
The rx battery isnt the best i found the steering servo fades out after about 5-10 minutes....I changed it for a Killer RC lipo I have broken 2 front CVD's and replaced with Phatdad ones now The lower arms tend to bow after a while I made my own dual servo setup and the steering is a whole lot better now... Dont think it would be long before Phatdad comes out with centre drive shafts, he has the CVD's sorted. |
