Got a little creativity for you guys.
Curious if there's a cheaper option.

Interior trim clips for my car broke off in my trunk, so the flap is just flapping everytime I pop it open- really annoying.

As opposed to dropping a dollar a piece (which really isn't that bad), but the shipping is killer- anything I can whip up with some parts or something from Home Depot?

I've tried screws & drywall anchors already..
What keeps happening is that either the base (which holds the interior panel trim) snaps off, or the christmas tree that expands, snaps off..

Use search terms like panel retainer, panel clip

Unless you live in BFE there should be an automotive fastener shop in your area. These guys sell generic versions of the clip in quantities of 10-25 for 5-10 bucks. I buy from them as I keep a stock of popular clips. Call a few of the body shops in town and they should be able to tell you who they use.

What kind of vehicle is it? I might have some laying around?!

Looks like you have a cardboard style backer on that trim panel. Sometimes the board tears and then you have an issues getting the clips to stay in. I have used hot glue when that happens.

You could also use stainless head trim screws and just screw the panel on. They also make screws that come with snap over decorative caps to hide the screw heads.

I stopped by Autozone and Pepboys, both didn't have the fasteners for a 2001 KIA.

Yes, cardboard backer on the trim; I'll use hot glue when I put the new ones in.

Even if they don't have something specifically for the Kia, many times, a suitable generic replacement can be used. Bring one of the old ones in the store and try to match it as close as possible.
